Design of the Saint Gobain Expansion

The design engineers of KÉSZ Romania participated as the general designer in the expansion of the second production line of the Saint-Gobain gypsum board factory in Turda.

BIM methods and parametric solutions were employed during the design process, contributing to increased accuracy and efficiency. For the multi-story industrial building, covering approximately 14,500 m², a photovoltaic system of around 1,730 panels was included, significantly reducing annual CO₂ emissions and covering a substantial part of the factory’s energy consumption. The energy-efficient design also encompassed the detailed planning of the grinding and calcination sections, as well as the board forming and drying lines.

The project received international recognition at the Tekla BIM Awards in the industrial category, confirming the high level of expertise and commitment of the KÉSZ Romania design team.
